La Creperie & French Bakery
Fort Collins, CO
Our Story
La Creperie & Bakery of Fort Collins is a family-owned business with roots that stretch back to Brittany, France, the birthplace of crepes and galettes. Jean Claude, the founder, grew up in his family’s bakery in Brittany, where he developed a passion for artisan baking. After running his father’s bakery for several years, Jean Claude moved to the United States and spent 17 wonderful years in Key West, Florida, where he owned and operated “Croissants de France,” a beloved destination for both locals and tourists.
In 2009, Jean Claude brought his expertise and love for French cuisine to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he established La Creperie & Bakery. Known for its commitment to quality, the restaurant prepares every dish fresh, using only the highest quality ingredients, and adhering to the artisan way—no preservatives, mixed powders, or chemicals. The result is an exceptional menu of authentic crepes, galettes, and pastries served in a welcoming atmosphere with friendly service.
Today, the legacy continues with Jean Claude’s children, Matilda and Enzo Lucas, who have taken over the operations. Both Matilda and Enzo began working in the business at age 14 and developed a deep love for baking and hospitality. After college, they decided to embrace their family’s tradition, bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm while maintaining the values that have always defined La Creperie.
Although Jean Claude is now retired, he and his wife, Carole, remain involved during special occasions and the holiday season, lending a hand and sharing their warmth with the community. Together, Famille Lucas continues to honor its heritage, creating unforgettable culinary experiences for every guest who walks through their doors.
